Aaron Swartz dies at 26.

Very relevant to the previous post.
Aaron Swartz, who co-founded Reddit and became an Internet folk hero for fighting to make online content free to the public, committed suicide Friday. He was 26.
HSBC Holdings Aiding Terrorists; Drug Cartels -Fined $1,92 billion
Aaron and his family did not have enough money or political clout to buy their way out of this situation. This is unbelievably sad for America and Justice.
HSBC bank agreed to pay a record $1.92 billion 'fine' for basically
money laundering involving terrorist organizations and drug cartels.
This is how the 'establishment' protects itself. And the laws are written to protect these large multi-national institutions.
Here it is: Prelim Code 18 USC §2339B
Unlawful conduct.— Whoever knowingly provides material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be fined under this title
or imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both....
So if you are HSBC its discretionary - fine or imprisonment or both. If you are Aaron Swartz they will hound you to death...literally.

Interesting the way these laws are written. Obviously with the intent that: If you, a person or corporation, are wealthy enough you can simply buy yourself out of almost any situation. HSBC bank have agreed to pay a record $1.92 billion 'fine' for basically money laundering involving terrorist organizations and drug cartels.
Here is the out: Prelim Code 18 USC §2339B - Providing material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations, states:  (a) Prohibited Activities.—
(1) Unlawful conduct.— Whoever knowingly provides material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both......
This is how the 'establishment' protects itself . If you are average citizen 'Joe', perhaps head up a charity that has inadvertently given money to a government designated terrorist organization and do not posses the funds to bail (read: bribe) yourself out of this type of situation with a fine then tough luck - it's jail for you.
$1.92 billion is about 2 months profit for HSBC - makes one think.

The US Leads the World.

In per capita prison population we are the world's leader.

The US incarcerates 751 people per 100,000 of population. Canada 108, Iran 222 and Japan 61. So we beat Iran with incarceration rates but they beat us in the number of people executed. Bummer, we can't be number one at everything.

Amazing! In Orange County CA, Christopher Fenn plea bargains and gets 10 years** for flashing. Haidl and his cronies get 6 years for gang rape. Fenn did not physically harm anyone and obviously needs psychiatric help.
The criminal industrial enterprise can be proud of itself.

His wife and four kids will not be affected at all. And oh yes, he will come out of prison cured and ready to contribute to society.

Let business regulate itself - sure! Like the financial institutions and the oil and gas companies -  think Enron.

Health Care Public Option

Well, looks like I was wrong on the public option issue.
How on earth can we have mandated health insurance and no public option?
To me this looks like a 'money printing machine' for the insurance industry.
